Professional ethics involves that you, as a researcher, has the obligation to remain objective and show integrity during the research process and ensure that your work does not harm any individual/group of individuals or the environment or animals by the research. If there are ethical implications to your work, you should discuss them in your research proposal and obtain approval to go ahead.

You should be open about why you want to interview or gather information, explain your reasons for doing the research and what the outcomes may be. Although you have the right to search for knowledge, it cannot be done at the expense of others.

You should always maintain high ethical standards, validity and accuracy in the collection and reporting of data. Researchers should demonstrate integrity and professionalism, observe fairness and equity.

When conducting research a researcher should only participate in work which conforms to accepted ethical standards.
